Chris Beall

Founder & Managing Partner

Chris Beall is a Founder and the Managing Partner of NOVA. Mr. Beall is an experienced infrastructure investor with 25 years of experience in private equity, investment banking, infrastructure operations, and engineering. He serves as Chair of NOVA’s Investment Committee and on the Executive and Valuation Committees. Currently, Mr. Beall serves on the Boards of Directors for Fund I’s portfolio companies Integrated Waste Solutions Group, Hawthorne Aviation, Skywire Networks, and Nopetro Energy Holdings.

Since 2017, Mr. Beall has built NOVA with Allison Kingsley, forming the NOVA Team and leading the execution of infrastructure investments in NOVA’s Target Sectors. From 2014 to 2017, Mr. Beall served as a Managing Director and Co-Portfolio Manager for the Oaktree Capital Group LLC (Oaktree) Infrastructure Investing strategy, acquired by Oaktree from Highstar Capital L.P. (Highstar) in 2014. Prior to Oaktree’s acquisition, he was one of four owners and a Partner of Highstar, the manager of a fourth-generation infrastructure fund responsible for a more than $6.3 billion portfolio of infrastructure investments. Prior to joining Highstar in 2004, Mr. Beall was CFO of the Aslan Group, an environmental services and communications firm. From 2000 to 2003, he also worked as an Investment Banking Associate in the Global Natural Resources Group at Lehman Brothers, Inc. Prior to business school, Mr. Beall worked in operations and engineering at Koch Gateway Pipeline Company and Koch Refining Company.

From 2013 through 2022, Mr. Beall was appointed to and served on the Board of Directors of the National Passenger Rail Corporation (Amtrak), the largest provider of passenger rail service in the U.S.

Mr. Beall earned an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Oklahoma State University.


 
 

Allison Kingsley

Founder & Partner

Allison Kingsley is a Founder of NOVA and a Partner. Dr. Kingsley is an experienced infrastructure investor with 22 years of professional experience, including work in infrastructure investing, investment banking, and global strategy and risk. She serves on NOVA’s Investment, Valuation, and Executive Committees and also functions as NOVA’s Chief Risk Officer. Currently, Dr. Kingsley serves on the Boards of Directors for Fund I’s portfolio companies Bold Ocean, Harbor Logistics, and A&R Bulk-Pak.

Since 2017, Dr. Kingsley has built NOVA with Chris Beall, forming the NOVA Team and leading the execution of infrastructure investments in NOVA’s Target Sectors. From 2010 to 2017, Dr. Kingsley was a full-time business school professor and advised on investments and corporate strategy as an independent consultant. From 2006 to 2010, Dr. Kingsley worked as a Director for Reformation Group Holdings, Ltd., a firm sponsored by Partner Reinsurance Company, Ltd. (PartnerRe) for the purposes of investing in global infrastructure debt, and also invested in direct debt and equity for PartnerRe’s Principal Finance Group. From 2003 to 2006, Dr. Kingsley worked at the public financial guarantor Ambac where she was Vice President in the Emerging Markets Group and formerly Assistant Vice President in the Public & Project Finance Group focusing on North America. At the beginning of her career, she worked at Lehman Brothers, Inc. as an Investment Banking Associate in the M&A and Power Groups.

In addition, as a political economist and former tenured business professor, Dr. Kingsley has published research on infrastructure investing and, from 2003 to 2017, taught business, strategy, political economy, and risk courses at the University of Vermont, Yale University, and New York University. She serves on the Board of Directors for YWCA Greenwich (CT).

Dr. Kingsley earned a Ph.D. in Political Science (political economy) from Columbia University, an M.S.L. from Yale Law School, and a B.A. with honors in History and Religious Studies from Rice University.

Donna Toth

Partner & Chief Financial Officer

Donna Toth is a Partner and the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Compliance Officer of NOVA. Ms. Toth has 29 years of experience overseeing the financial, operating, and administrative functions of various global advisory and private equity businesses. Ms. Toth serves as Chair of the Valuation Committee and on the Investment and Executive Committees.

Prior to joining NOVA in 2018, Ms. Toth was the CFO at Strata Energy, a middle-market energy infrastructure investment firm. From 2011 to 2013, she served as COO of Alternative Investment Management, a hedge fund and private equity fund of funds, managing all of the firm’s non-investment management functions. From 2005 to 2011, Ms. Toth was the CFO and one of six founding partners of Park Hill Group (Park Hill). During a period of rapid growth and expansion, she built and oversaw the organization’s operational infrastructure and was responsible for its integration upon the acquisition by Blackstone in 2007. Prior to Park Hill, from 1999 to 2004, Ms. Toth was CFO of Atlantic-Pacific Capital. From 1996 to 1999, she worked at Ziff Brothers Investments after beginning her career as an audit and tax associate at Price Waterhouse.

Ms. Toth is a CPA and holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Connecticut.

John Livingston 

Partner, Sales and Marketing

John Livingston is a Partner and responsible for the sales and marketing efforts of NOVA. Mr. Livingston is an experienced sales and marketing executive with 32 years of experience in institutional markets. Since 1999, he has participated in numerous fundraisers and has raised capital in various asset classes, including private equity, private debt, private real estate, infrastructure equity, and infrastructure debt. Mr. Livingston sits on NOVA’s Executive Committee.

Prior to joining NOVA in 2018, Mr. Livingston served as Partner at Pinnacle Trust Partners, where he led the infrastructure sales effort. Prior to joining Pinnacle in 2013, Mr. Livingston spent 13 years with American International Group (AIG), and then as a Managing Director at PineBridge Investments, after its acquisition of AIG’s third-party investment business. Prior to AIG, he worked at TCW Group and as a bond trader at Rittenhouse Capital Management and at Insurance Advisory Services.

Mr. Livingston earned a B.S. from Widener University and previously served in the United States Air Force (1993).

Erik Ludtke 

Operating Partner

Erik Ludtke is an Operating Partner of NOVA. Mr. Ludtke has 37 years of experience in the global energy industry serving in various executive roles in business development and operations in which he identified potential acquisitions, integrated operations, and fully commercialized business assets. Mr. Ludtke serves on NOVA’s Investment and Executive Committees. Currently, Mr. Ludtke serves on the Boards of Directors for Fund I’s portfolio companies Hawthorne Aviation and Nopetro Renewables.

Prior to joining NOVA in 2019, Mr. Ludtke was the Chief Commercial Officer at NextDecade, a liquified natural gas development company based in Houston, Texas. Prior to NextDecade, from 2015 to 2018, Mr. Ludtke was a Senior Vice President of Commercial and Business Development at Northstar Midstream, a portfolio company of Highstar Capital Fund IV, L.P., where he was responsible for the commercialization of existing assets and development of new midstream business opportunities. He also previously served as Chief Operating Officer at Kiewit Midstream and as Vice President of Gas Marketing and Transportation, Americas at Talisman Energy. Earlier in his career, Mr. Ludtke worked at Peabody Energy and Apache, and also served in various in-country executive roles in Argentina, Israel, India and London with BG Group, Duke Energy and Enron.

Mr. Ludtke holds a B.S. in Economics from Texas A&M University and certificates from Wharton School of Business Executive Development Program and International Development Program in Kyoto, Japan.

Stephen Denis

Managing Director

Stephen Denis is a Managing Director at NOVA and has 11 years of experience in infrastructure-focused private equity, project development, and investment banking. He currently serves on the Boards of Directors of Fund I’s portfolio companies telMAX, Skywire Networks and Nopetro Renewables.

Prior to NOVA, Mr. Denis was the Vice President of Finance at Spire Holdco, a private equity-backed midstream operator developing a large hydrocarbon liquids export terminal project in Western Canada. Mr. Denis was also a Vice President at Strata Energy, a middle-market energy infrastructure investment firm. Prior to Strata, Mr. Denis was a Private Equity Analyst at TPH Partners and an Investment Banking Analyst at Tudor, Pickering, Holt & Co.

Mr. Denis holds a B.S.M. in Finance and Legal Studies in Business from Tulane University with honors.


 

Philip Moor 

Managing Director

Philip Moor is a Managing Director at NOVA and has 15 years of experience in the development and financing of power and infrastructure investments. He currently serves on the Boards of Directors of Fund I’s portfolio companies Integrated Waste Solutions Group and Hawthorne Aviation.

Prior to NOVA, Mr. Moor worked in the Power & Infrastructure Finance - North America Group at Investec USA Holdings Corp. Before Investec, he was an Associate at eleQtra / InfraCo, Inc., an infrastructure development firm specializing in international greenfield energy and transportation projects. Earlier, Mr. Moor worked as a Registered Client Service Associate at UBS Financial Services, Inc. He also worked as a Financial Consultant in São Paulo for Mining Ventures Brasil, a Denham Capital portfolio company.

Mr. Moor holds a B.A. in Economics from New York University and is a CFA® Charterholder.


 

Faisal Choudhury

Senior Vice President

Faisal Choudhury is a Senior Vice President at NOVA and has more than 12 years of experience as an investor and investment banker across the infrastructure, energy, and industrial sectors. He currently serves on the Boards of Directors of Fund I’s portfolio companies Harbor Logistics, Nopetro Renewables, and A&R Bulk-Pak.

Prior to NOVA, Mr. Choudhury was a Principal at Glenfarne Group, a developer, owner, operator, and industrial manager of energy and infrastructure assets. He also worked as an Investment Analyst at the International Finance Corporation in Istanbul and as an Associate at Macquarie Capital in New York.

Mr. Choudhury holds an M.B.A. from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a B.A. from Northwestern University.


 

Bryant Dang

Senior Vice President

Bryant Dang is a Senior Vice President at NOVA and has 8 years of experience in private equity and investment banking in the infrastructure and energy sectors. He currently serves on the Boards of Directors of Fund I’s portfolio companies Integrated Waste Solutions Group, Bold Ocean, and A&R Bulk-Pak, as well as an Observer to the Board of Directors of Harbor Logistics.

Prior to joining NOVA, Mr. Dang was an Associate at EIV Capital, a middle market energy-focused private equity firm, where he was responsible for evaluating investment opportunities in the midstream, downstream, oilfield services, and renewable energy sectors in addition to ongoing portfolio management activities. Prior to EIV Capital, Mr. Dang was an Investment Banking Analyst at Moelis & Company where he worked on M&A, recapitalizations and restructuring transactions in the energy sector.

Mr. Dang holds a B.B.A. in Finance from the Mays Business School at Texas A&M University.


 

Noah Frick

Senior Associate

Noah Frick is an Senior Associate at NOVA Infrastructure and has 6 years of experience in investment management, management consulting, and military and intelligence operations. He sits as an Observer to the Boards of Directors of Fund I’s portfolio companies Hawthorne Aviation, Bold Ocean and telMAX.

Prior to joining NOVA, Mr. Frick was an Investment Fellow at Mobility Capital, a transportation-focused investment manager, and a Summer Associate at McKinsey & Co, where he worked on projects covering the aerospace and electric mobility sectors. For five years prior to business school, Mr. Frick served as an Intelligence Officer in the U.S. Army, including as a member of the 75th Ranger Regiment, Special Operations Command, where he operated in various capacities including as the Regiment’s designated liaison in Washington D.C. and as a Task Force Intelligence Chief leading a team of analysts focused on sourcing, processing, and operationalizing signals, cyber, human, and geo-spatial intelligence in an overseas combat zone.

Mr. Frick holds an M.B.A. from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business and an B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics from the University of Pennsylvania.


 

Michael Troy

Senior Associate

Michael Troy is an Senior Associate at NOVA and has 6 years of experience in investment banking and corporate finance. Mike sits as an Observer to the Boards of Directors of Fund I’s portfolio companies Harbor Logistics and Skywire Networks.

Prior to joining NOVA, Mr. Troy was an Analyst at Lincoln International, a middle market investment bank, where he was responsible for independent third-party valuations for private equity clients across all industries. Prior to Lincoln International, Mr. Troy was a financial analyst in the Scenario Planning and Stress Testing group at AIG.

Mr. Troy holds an M.B.A. from Anderson School of Management at the University of California, Los Angeles, and an B.S. in Mathematical Business from Wake Forest University.

Andrew Parsons

Director of Finance and Operations

Andrew Parsons is the Director of Finance and Operations at NOVA and has 9 years of experience in accounting, operations, and compliance, predominantly in the alternative investment management industry.

Prior to joining NOVA, Mr. Parsons was the Deputy CFO and Business Manager of White Marigold Capital Management, a hedge fund manager. Mr. Parsons helped launch the fund, designing and implementing the financial and back-office operations, managing third party service providers, and sitting on the Valuation and Risk Management committees. Before White Marigold, Mr. Parsons was an execution trader for the volatility arbitrage desk at BlueCrest Capital Management.

Mr. Parsons earned his M.B.A. with a concentration in Finance from Tulane University, graduating with honors. He also holds a B.A. in Economics from Tulane University.


 

Liz Miller

Accounting and Operations Associate

Liz Miller is an Accounting and Operations Associate at NOVA with over 8 years supporting executives in various industries.

Prior to joining NOVA, Ms. Miller worked as an Administrative Assistant to the managing members at Aesir Capital Management, a hedge fund in Greenwich, CT. Previously she worked both in the C-suite at Cantor Fitzgerald and in medical private practices.

Ms. Miller holds a B.S. in Accounting from the School of Business and Economics at Lehigh University and an M.S. in Finance from I.E. International Business School in Madrid, Spain.

Charles Appleby

Senior Advisor – Environmental Services

Charlie Appleby is a highly experienced operator with more than 46 years of experience in executive leadership, corporate finance and accounting, waste management, and private equity.

Previously, Mr. Appleby was a founder, CEO and Chairman of Advanced Disposal Services (ADS), where he built the company from a small start-up operation to the 4th largest waste management company in the United States.

Mr. Appleby founded Integrated Waste Solutions Group (IWSG) with Managing Partner Chris Beall and currently serves as IWSG’s Executive Chairman. IWSG was formed in 2017 to pursue a vertically integrated geographic hub strategy in the waste management sector.


Dion Nicely

Senior Advisor – Transportation & Energy / Energy Transition

Dion Nicely is an accomplished and entrepreneurial leader in finance, operations and logistics who has nearly 22 years of combined experience in the US Coast Guard and the private sector.

Mr. Nicely is the Founder and President of Veterans Maritime, a maritime logistics and advisory company that transports government freight and energy products. Veterans Maritime also invests in and owns Jones Act compliant vessels under partnership with Military Sealift Command. Previously, Mr. Nicely served as director of logistics and transportation for Bridger Logistics. He spent more than 12 years as an active duty officer in the US Coast Guard, serving on four vessels, including one tour as Commanding Officer of a Patrol Boat in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Mr. Nicely currently serves on the Board of Directors of Bold Ocean, a US Flag maritime logistics business serving the US government.


 
 

Martin Rees

Senior Advisor – Energy / Energy Transition

Martin Rees is a highly experienced finance executive with over 47 years of experience in project and corporate finance, treasury, accounting, business development, and mergers & acquisitions. In his focus on the global energy sector, Mr. Rees has structured and closed more than $10 billion in energy project, corporate, and acquisition financings.

Previously, Mr. Rees worked as the CFO of InterGen N.V. (Intergen) where he had full financial responsibility for a 6,000 MW contracted and merchant power portfolio operating in six countries. Prior to Intergen, Mr. Rees held various finance and business development roles at both Reliant Energy and Westinghouse Electric.


Stephen Smith

Senior Advisor – Energy Transition and Environmental Services

Stephen Smith is a highly accomplished industry leader and expert with more than 45 years of experience in solid waste management, landfill construction, landfill gas recovery and energy system construction, environmental engineering, and compliance and safety training.

Previously, Mr. Smith served as a senior vice president at Aria Energy, where he was responsible for project development of numerous RNG facilities. Prior to Aria, Mr. Smith held senior-level positions at Clean Energy Renewable Fuels, Atwell LLC, Hydro Geo Chem, Inc., SCS Engineers, and Waste Management, Inc. In these positions he was responsible for developing, planning, designing and implementing programs both in the solid waste and hazardous waste fields.

Mr. Smith has served on the Board of Governors of the National Waste & Recycling Association since 1995, is an author of over 20 papers and presentations in technically reviewed journals, trade magazines and conference proceedings, and has served on several gubernatorial appointed and other committees within the states of Arizona, Colorado, and Utah to investigate solid and hazardous waste issues.


 
 

John Troy 

Senior Advisor – Communications & General Infrastructure

John Troy is a veteran infrastructure investor with more than 39 years of private equity and corporate Board leadership experience.

Most recently, Mr. Troy served as a Senior Advisor to Prostar Capital, a $500 million energy infrastructure private equity firm that he co-founded in 2012 and retired from in 2017.  Prior to Prostar Capital, Mr. Troy served as Managing Director of TVG Capital Partners, a $700 million Asian telecom focused infrastructure private equity firm that he founded in 1998, and as a founding member of The Asian Infrastructure Fund, a $750 million investment vehicle sponsored by the International Finance Corporation, Asian Development Bank, and George Soros.

Mr. Troy currently serves as Chairman on the Board of Directors of telMAX, a fiber and telecom services platform. He also serves on the Board of Pacific Telecom, an Asian-based telecom infrastructure owner and operator.
