NOVA utilizes market connectivity and longstanding, extensive industry relationships to originate proprietary, bespoke, and otherwise attractive investment opportunities. Once identified, we conduct thorough, bottom-up operational due diligence and rigorous financial analysis to correctly value investments in line with their risk. For our portfolio companies, we work alongside the management team to develop performance metrics and an accompanying value-creation plan for the first 100 days that focuses on operational improvements, cash flow optimization, and development of a robust ESG policy. Additionally, NOVA facilitates problem identification and commercial solutions as well as manages and assists in due diligence and financing processes, including complex stakeholder engagement and management.
NOVA has developed a set of investment processes and risk management procedures designed to identify risk during the due diligence process, manage and consider risk during the ownership of portfolio companies, and mitigate risk upon exit. NOVA believes its risk assessment process and documentation are highly bespoke to investing in the infrastructure asset class. From the initial screen to the final exit, NOVA seeks to exemplify best practices in risk management, a central and differentiating value in NOVA’s investment process. As a signatory to UNPRI, we employ enterprise-wide integration of a thoughtful, forward-looking ESG policy that includes the incorporation of financially material ESG factors into our risk analysis.
